Linux Graphics Group Meeting Announcement

February 5, 2002 (first Tuesday) 7-9 pm
Cafe Au Coquelet (back room)
2000 University Ave.
Berkeley, California

Open invitation to attend a free informal monthly get-together to discuss issues relevant to users, administrators, and developers of Linux graphics applications.

Anyone working Linux graphics applications or wanting to is welcome. People may discuss whatever they like, but here are some suggested topics to get the ball rolling:

  1. Using Gimp
  2. Motion picture compositing with Shake or Rayz
  3. Color matching systems, such as CMS
  4. Video editing with Kino or other packages
  5. Watching TV with XawTV or Zapping
  6. Film Gimp
  7. Linux use in motion picture production with Shrek, Harry Potter, Cats & Dogs, Star Wars II, etc.

Readers of Linux Journal magazine may want to see Robin Rowe's article about non-linear video editors such as Kino in the current February issue (at larger bookstores and newstands everywhere).
