Linux Movies Group Meeting

Recap of meeting #2, Tuesday, March 5, 2002, 7pm

The big event this month was the San Francisco SIGGRAPH An Evening with PIXAR: "The Making of Monsters, Inc." on Monday, February 25th at the Academy of Art College. The theater was filled to capacity.

This month's Linux Graphics Group meeting was just me and my partner Gabrielle. We discussed ways to better get the word out about the group. The local Linux community seems focused on servers and non-graphical applications. We need to get the word out in the graphics community, such as San Francisco SIGGRAPH. We also discussed the possibility that it may take time to build word of mouth, that we'll keep meeting regardless.

We have had a request to change the meeting night to avoid a conflict with the SF SIGGRAPH board meeting. We're moving the group's meeting date to the first Wednesday instead.

We decided to change the name of the group to be in line with our new domain name, LinuxMovies.org.
